3.
What is the purpose of the card?
We are aware that consumers are increasingly demanding
more from retailers and businesses and that in a global
market shopping patterns are far more transient. This
proves a real issue for businesses in terms of gaining
new and local custom and also in keeping that custom
and keeping customers informed.
Harrogate Advantage helps solve these issues for both
the consumer and business. The card pulls together
a local network with unique preferential offerings
for "Harrogate Advantage" Cardholders. This
scheme will help keep local customers local. You gain
new customers without the high marketing costs and
are able to keep them informed through our monthly
newletters, as well as via the Harrogate Advantage
website.

4.
How is the card be marketed?
We launched by sending out over 30,000 leaflets, concentrating
on HG1, HG2 and HG5 postcodes. There is also exposure
through the network of acceptors. We hold recruitment
events and utilise many existing marketing methods.
Every card acceptor is also encouraged to grow the
membership by helping sign up new members and will
even be paid a 10% (£1) commission for each
new member recruited via their business.
Plans also include press releases in local media,
telemarketing, event stands and direct sales.
